Fail.Safe is a first-person sci-fi narrative game with a first of its kind dialogue system. You play as Ryn, a human trapped in a locked room on a spaceship with a potentially hostile AI. The demo is currently available to play on Steam.
As the sole designer on the project, I designed the level (the room you are trapped in), implemented mechanics like walking around, picking up objects, and interacting with the world (turning on lights, opening doors), and did the technical implementation of the UI for the puzzles you encounter in the game. I worked closely with the narrative designers to make sure that the 3D world state reflected the narrative state, and with the art team on the level appearance and animations.
Fail.Safe was created in Unreal 5. I worked entirely in Unreal Blueprint and the level editor.
